Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before using the website smilehealthecuador.com or booking any services with Smilehealth Ecuador Dental Clinic (formerly Find Health in Ecuador Dental Clinic), operated by Adam Altholtz, located at Medimagén Building (2nd Floor), Av. Paseo de Los Cañaris & Av. Pumapungo, Cuenca, Ecuador.

By accessing our website, submitting a contact form, messaging us via WhatsApp, or proceeding with any dental treatment or concierge service, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

Acceptance of Terms

By using this website or engaging with Smilehealth Ecuador Dental Clinic in any capacity — including submitting an inquiry form, messaging via WhatsApp, attending an in-person consultation, or proceeding with dental treatment — you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions in their entirety.

If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our website or services. We reserve the right to deny service to anyone who violates these terms.

These Terms apply to all patients, prospective patients, and website visitors, regardless of country of origin.

Services Offered

Smilehealth Ecuador Dental Clinic provides the following services to local and international patients:

  • Dental Treatments: Dental implants, zirconia crowns, zirconia veneers, root canals, teeth whitening, full and partial dentures, dental cleaning, All-on-4/6/8 implants, and general dentistry.
  • Free Initial Consultation: Assessment of your dental needs, panoramic X-ray review, and a personalized treatment plan with cost estimate.
  • Patient Concierge Services: Airport pickup coordination, hotel and accommodation recommendations, city tour arrangements, and 24/7 WhatsApp support provided by Adam Altholtz.
  • Dental Vacation Packages: Bundled treatment and travel packages as described on our website, subject to availability and confirmation.
  • Emergency Dental Care: Urgent treatment for tooth pain, broken teeth, or other dental emergencies, subject to availability.

All clinical dental services are performed exclusively by Dr. Andres Pacheco and qualified dental staff under applicable Ecuadorian professional standards. Patient concierge and travel services are provided by Adam Altholtz and are non-medical in nature.

Appointments & Scheduling

All appointment requests are made through our contact form, WhatsApp (+593 98 392 9606), email (info@smilehealthecuador.com), or US phone (+1 941-227-0114). An appointment is considered confirmed only after you receive explicit confirmation from Adam or clinic staff.

  • Clinic hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Ecuador time). Saturday appointments are for dental emergencies only.
  • Adam is available 24/7 via WhatsApp for scheduling and travel-related inquiries, but clinical decisions can only be made during clinic hours.
  • International patients are encouraged to confirm appointment dates before purchasing flights or making non-refundable travel arrangements.
  • We reserve the right to reschedule appointments in cases of clinical emergency, staff unavailability, or force majeure events. We will notify you as promptly as possible in such circumstances.
  • Please arrive at the clinic at your scheduled time. Late arrivals of more than 20 minutes may require rescheduling at the clinic's discretion.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

We understand that travel and health plans can change unexpectedly. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair to all patients while protecting the time of our clinical team.

Mid-treatment withdrawalFees for work already completed will be charged in full. Refunds will not be issued for services already rendered.

To cancel or reschedule, contact Adam via WhatsApp or email as soon as possible. We are always willing to accommodate genuine emergencies with flexibility.

For international patients: We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance that covers trip cancellation, medical emergencies, and dental complications before traveling to Cuenca. We are not liable for non-refundable travel costs incurred in connection with a cancelled or rescheduled dental appointment.

Pricing, Payments & Quotes

All prices displayed on our website are in US Dollars (USD) and are provided as estimates based on standard cases. Final pricing is determined after an in-person or remote consultation and review of your specific dental needs.

  • Written quotes provided by Adam or Dr. Pacheco are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.
  • Prices are subject to change without prior notice on the website, but confirmed treatment plans will be honored at the quoted price for 30 days.
  • Additional costs may apply if diagnostic X-rays, CT scans (tomographies), laboratory work, or supplementary medications are required beyond the original scope of treatment.
  • Payment is typically due at the time of service. We accept cash (USD) and may accept bank transfer for larger treatment packages. Payment terms for multi-stage treatments (e.g., implants requiring two visits) will be agreed upon in writing prior to commencing treatment.
  • We do not directly bill US, Canadian, or European dental insurance. We provide itemized receipts upon request that you may submit to your insurer for potential partial reimbursement.
  • We do not offer financing. All fees must be paid in full per the agreed payment schedule before or at the time of each treatment session.

Disclaimer: Price comparisons shown on our website between US/Canadian prices and our Ecuador prices are for informational purposes only. Individual savings will vary based on treatment complexity, materials selected, and your home country's dental pricing.

Treatment Consent & Medical Responsibility

All dental procedures require your informed consent prior to commencement. By proceeding with any treatment, you confirm that:

  • You have been informed of the nature, purpose, risks, benefits, and alternatives of the proposed treatment.
  • You have disclosed all relevant medical history, allergies, medications, and health conditions that may affect your dental care.
  • You understand that dental treatment outcomes can vary between individuals and that no specific result is guaranteed.
  • You accept that some procedures (such as implants) require healing time and follow-up visits, which may necessitate a return trip to Cuenca.
  • You are responsible for following all post-operative care instructions provided by Dr. Pacheco and clinic staff. Failure to follow aftercare instructions may affect treatment outcomes for which the clinic cannot be held liable.

Medical Clearance: Patients with complex medical histories (e.g., heart conditions, diabetes, blood thinners, bisphosphonate use, immune disorders) must inform Dr. Pacheco at the time of consultation. We reserve the right to require a medical clearance letter from your physician before proceeding with certain procedures.

Dental treatment at Smilehealth Ecuador is performed by licensed dental professionals operating under Ecuadorian law. By receiving treatment, you agree that any clinical complaints or disputes will be governed by the professional standards and dispute resolution mechanisms applicable in Ecuador.

Concierge & Travel Services

Adam Altholtz provides patient concierge services as a courtesy to international dental patients. These include airport pickup coordination, accommodation recommendations, city tour arrangements, and general travel guidance. Please note the following:

  • Concierge services are non-medical in nature. Adam does not provide medical advice and is not a licensed healthcare provider.
  • Airport pickup, tours, and hotel bookings are coordinated by Adam but fulfilled by independent third-party providers (taxi drivers, hotels, tour operators). Smilehealth Ecuador is not responsible for the quality, safety, or reliability of these third-party services.
  • Hotel and accommodation recommendations are provided in good faith based on patient feedback and Adam's experience. We do not guarantee availability, pricing, or quality of any specific property.
  • Complimentary city tours included in the Dental Vacation Package are subject to availability and scheduling. They are a courtesy, not a contractual obligation, and may be modified or cancelled without compensation.
  • Smilehealth Ecuador is not a licensed travel agency. All travel arrangements remain the patient's own responsibility.

Before & After Photos & Testimonials

Smilehealth Ecuador Dental Clinic may request your permission to use before and after photographs of your dental work, as well as written or video testimonials, for marketing and educational purposes on our website and social media channels.

  • We will never use your photos or testimonials without your explicit written consent.
  • Consent for photography/testimonial use is entirely voluntary and separate from your consent to treatment. Declining does not affect the quality of care you receive.
  • You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us in writing. We will remove your content from active use within a reasonable timeframe, though we cannot guarantee removal from content already published on third-party platforms (e.g., Google Reviews you submitted independently).
  • Before and after photos displayed on our website represent real patients treated at our clinic. Individual results vary and are not guaranteed.

Our total liability for any claim arising from dental services rendered shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific treatment in dispute. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ecuador. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of our services that cannot be resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Cuenca, Azuay Province, Ecuador.

We are committed to resolving disputes amicably. If you have a complaint about any aspect of your treatment or experience, we encourage you to contact Adam directly via WhatsApp or email in the first instance. We will make every reasonable effort to address your concern promptly and fairly.

For clinical complaints regarding dental treatment, patients may also contact the Colegio de Odontólogos del Azuay, the professional regulatory body for dentists in the Azuay Province of Ecuador.
